Sisters

So this is a recent commissioned painting I was asked to do for an old school friend. The brief was simple… “Hey I was wondering if you could paint me a picture – aboriginal/modern that shows sisterhood, environment, love and sharing. It’s for a dear friend and would love to give her something special.” The […]

Naidoc 2016

This event was a high point of my year. The unexpected huge return we got on a small budget was crazy. We have at our school a small number of parents that are committed to better outcomes for our indigenous children. It was an event that we wanted to showcase the indigenous culture and represent […]

Youth Detention Centre

Another exciting project? Check. Another, I didn’t know what to expect? Check. Changing your delivery to suit a young and hurting audience? Reality check. Welcome to the world of youth detention. A detention that outwardly shows our indigenous youth in crisis. After my first day, I questioned myself,  how I was in a place with […]

Swan Hill

It’s not very often you walk into a storm and come out dry. This project started out to be the perfect storm according to the man Chris Rowlands. Jason from Newlook International called me up and told me he had a job that was right up my ally. The city of Swan Hill in Victoria […]

  • New collaboration piece with @kyra.jo17 stretched over 3 frames. This commissioned piece will have its home shortly at the Civil Aviation Safety Authority headquarters in Brisbane city. The piece was inspired by incorporating the continuous theme of an aboriginal child learning and connecting with his environment. Focusing on the eagle and relationships our traditional owners had with our landscape, the question can be asked ‘is the bird feeding the caretakers or are the caretakers feeding the bird?’ Such is the relationship the custodians had with the land that either answer would be correct. 😉

  • I’ve been a bit quiet on the socials lately but that’s because I’ve been working on something pretty special. At the moment I’m getting a gallery ready for my first curatorial exhibition #tradelines at Bundaberg regional art gallery. Not long to go now. This afternoon had been painting the Burnett river to the wall with clay, collected from the river itself. Big plug for @monarchpainting and their brushes. Ive said it before, but their brushes make jobs like this so easy and always a top result. Stay tuned for more.
